Survival Equipment

Anytime your out snowmobiling in the back country, there's always that chance of having trouble or finding someone else in trouble. Your chances for survival will often depend on your state of mind, your equipment, and your knowledge on how to use it. One of the things we recommend is to build your own survival kit, store bought kits are usually full of cheap equipment, that offer little help, and your life may depend on your equipment. Below are some of the necessary items you should carry with you at all times.

Waterproof matches-- butane lighters
Sharp knife
Space blankets
Cord
Candle
Plastic sheet
Flashlight with extra batteries
Dry gloves
Basic first aid kit
Food-- such as hard candy, high energy bars
Water-- we CAN NOT SURVIVE WITHOUT WATER
paper

There are many more items you might want to add to your list, this will give you a good start. Always start out wearing the proper waterproof clothing and boots, layers are your best choice. Wool and synthetics are best. If you are wearing cotton, once it gets wet, it has no insulation value.
