BACKCOUNTRY RIDING CLINIC WITH LUKE YOUNGBERG

LUKE IS BACK! Backcountry Riding Clinic will be hosted by Luke Youngberg, a true Backcountry athlete. After graduating from college, Luke spent two winters as a guide and instructor in McCall, Idaho for CM Backcountry Adventures. After that he has been racing in the Rocky Mountain states Hillclimb circuit, the last two years racing in the pro division.

Luke's ability to quickly identify what skills and techniques will help you to improve. He will break them down in easy-to-follow segments. Luke will then coach you through the process to help you master the skill. His talent to identify those skills and translate them into an easy-to-follow steps has made him a highly sought after instructor on the mountain. Luke's clinic will focus on true backcountry riding skills like, wrong foot forward, side hilling, downhill U-turns, brake control, how to get unstuck easier, and some avalanche rescue practice. OSSA is excited to bring Luke and his clinic back to the OSSA Convention on Friday January 17th and Saturday January 18th at Diamond Lake Resort. The clinics will begin at 9:00 AM. Cost: $50 per person -  REGISTER HERE

What to bring:  Mountain sled, transceiver, shovel, probe, and backpack. Lunch, snacks, and water.

GUIDED RIDES

The Rogue Snowmobilers will be guiding rides in the Diamond Lake area. The Cascade Connection Snowmobile Club will be guiding rides in the Windigo area.

DATES: Thursday, January 17th and Friday, January 18th

LOCATION AND TIME: Riders will meet at the gas station at 9:00 AM.

All riders are welcome. Rides will be split in skill levels as needed.

Jared Broadwater, Ski-Doo's newest Ambassador will also be guiding rides.

LOCATION AND TIME: Riders will meet at the activity Center at 9:00 AM.

All riders are welcome. A Demo sled will be available.

Grooming Workshop 9 AM - 5 PM

Pisten Bully, Prinoth, and Tucker representatives will be here to answer questions and give information. We will have several cats available for you to take on a test drive.

• Know Before You Go Avalanche Awareness workshop presented by SWS Mountain Guides.  4:00 - 5:00 PM
  • The KBYG presentation is a 1-hour interactive presentation for anyone interested in learning about avalanches. The presentation is delivered by avalanche professionals and includes videos, interactive content, and open discussions. Attendees learn about the dangers that avalanches pose to humans and simple steps to stay safe and have fun in avalanche terrain.
